DotGLinks (“we”, “us”) provides a tool to generate trusted short links. This policy explains what information we process when you use the website or our API. DotGLinks is not affiliated with Google as a product partner; we do use Google Analytics to understand site traffic as described below.

What we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may process:

Destination URLs you submit for shortening; UTM or other query parameters you include; technical data such as IP address, browser type, and request timing (used for security and fair-use rate limits); CSRF/session tokens needed to protect forms; and analytics data collected through Google Analytics as described in the Analytics section.

What stays on your device

Links on the My links page are stored in your browser (localStorage) only. We do not store your generated short-link list on our servers. Clearing My links in your browser removes them from that device.

How we use information

We use the information above to generate short links, prevent abuse, enforce fair-use limits, operate and improve the service, measure website traffic, and respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal information.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics on this website to understand how visitors use DotGLinks (for example, pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type, and referral source). Google may set cookies or use similar technologies and process data under Google’s own policies.

You can learn more in Google’s documentation and policies: Google Privacy Policy and Google Analytics data practices. You can also limit analytics cookies in your browser settings or with Google’s opt-out tools where available.

API customers

If you use a paid API plan, we may also process account and contact details you provide (such as email), API usage metrics (request volume, plan limits), and billing/communication records needed to provide the plan. API keys should be kept confidential; do not share them publicly.

Third parties

To create short links, requests may be processed by our link provider and network partners. We only send what is needed to generate your redirects. We also use Google Analytics as described above. Those parties process data under their own terms and policies.

Retention

Rate-limit and job-lock records are stored temporarily. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings and Google’s retention controls. My links remain on your device until you clear them.
