DotGLinks (“we”, “us”) provides a tool to generate trusted short links. This policy explains what information we process when you use the website or our API. DotGLinks is not affiliated with Google.

What we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may process:

Destination URLs you submit for shortening; UTM or other query parameters you include; technical data such as IP address, browser type, and request timing (used for security and fair-use rate limits); CSRF/session tokens needed to protect forms; and aggregate counters (for example, total links generated), which do not store your individual URLs.

What stays on your device

Campaign history on the History page is stored in your browser (localStorage) only. We do not store your generated short-link list on our servers. Clearing history in your browser removes it from that device.

How we use information

We use the information above to generate short links, prevent abuse, enforce fair-use limits, operate and improve the service, and respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal information.

API customers

If you use a paid API plan, we may also process account and contact details you provide (such as email), API usage metrics (request volume, plan limits), and billing/communication records needed to provide the plan. API keys should be kept confidential; do not share them publicly.

Third parties

To create short links, requests may be processed by our link provider and network partners. We only send what is needed to generate your redirects. Those parties process data under their own terms and policies.

Retention

Rate-limit and job-lock records are stored temporarily. Aggregate totals may be kept longer for operational statistics. Browser history remains on your device until you clear it.
